About

Building a home far from home – one smile, one blog post at a time. ☀️💛

Namaste and kia ora! 🌿

I’m Rajalakshmi — a South Indian girl with a suitcase full of dreams, and a heart learning to bloom in new soil. I recently moved from Bangalore to New Zealand, and Namaste Kiwi is where I unpack it all — slowly, warmly, and honestly.

This blog was born on quiet days — when the air smelled different, the sky felt too wide, and my soul needed somewhere to land. It’s for those in-between moments of figuring things out: where you’re from, where you’re going, and how to carry all the versions of yourself with love.

Here, I write about life between two worlds.

What you’ll find here

• adjusting to a new country (and accent!),

• finding joy in a perfectly spiced curry or a misty morning walk,

• reclaiming health, glow-ups, and little rituals of care,

• and building a home — not just in a house, but inside yourself.

I’m a doctor in pathology, but beyond the microscope, I’m just a woman who loves deep chats over tea, second-hand bookshops, soulful playlists, and sunsets that make you forget your phone.

If you’ve ever felt a little out of place, a little homesick, or a little hopeful… this space is for you.

Let’s explore, heal, laugh, and find beauty in becoming — together.

Welcome to Namaste Kiwi. I’m so glad you’re here. 💛
